OPENING OF SNOW CRAB AREA 13 FISHERY SEASON 2019

Fisheries and Oceans Canada - Quebec Region announces the season opening for snow crab fishing in Area 13 for the 2019 Season:

From May 10, 2019 at 4:30 a.m. (EDT) to August 15, 2019 at 23:59 (EDT) for Newfoundland and Labrador fish harvesters.

Other management measures in the Conservation Harvesting Plan approved on April 29, 2019 remain unchanged.

Furthermore, it should be noted that during the period during which fishing is authorized, it is the captain's responsibility to read the notices issued by Environment and Climate Change Canada and Transport Canada related to marine safety, as well as safety standards and good practices, and take all the necessary steps to ensure safe fishing.

Fish harvesters from Western Newfoundland are advised that licence conditions are available on the National Online Licencing System.
