3Ps <65' Mobile Gear Atlantic Halibut Retention

DFO advises that mobile gear vessels less than 65 feet are now permitted to retain bycatch of Atlantic Halibut in open mobile groundfish fisheries as of 0600 hours on Wednesday, May 15, 2019.

By-catch limits are outlined in harvesters 2019 Groundfish General Licence Conditions.

This measure applies to vessel class C150, C151, C175, C176 and C360-C600.
