Greenland Halibut (Turbot) Fishery < 65 ft. Fixed Gear Fleet Opening in NAFO Divisions 2+3KLMNO
DFO advises harvesters of the following opening dates for the < 65 ft. fixed gear Greenland halibut fishery (Turbot) in NAFO Divisions 2+3KLMNO.
. For harvesters with a permit for 3L: 06:00 hours Monday July 1, 2019 to 20:00 hours Thursday August 1, 2019.
. For harvesters with a permit for 2+3K: 06:00 hours Sunday July 7, 2019 to 20:00 hours Wednesday August 7, 2019.
Harvesters are advised that the fishery will close prior to the schedule date should landings indicate that the TAC will be taken prior to the closure date.
Fish Harvesters are required to hail-out to an At Sea Observer Company 24 hours prior to leaving port.
Licence conditions will be available through DFO's National On-line Licencing System for those fish harvester who submitted an Expression of Interest and are eligible to participate in the NAFO Divisions 2+3KLMNO fixed gear Greenland halibut (Turbot) fishery.
The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2019-115 has been revoked and Variation Order 2019-120 comes into effect on June 28, 2019.
