Fixed Gear Capelin Fishery Closing in a portion of Notre Dame Bay(North Head to Dog Bay Point)

DFO advises that, based on a recommendation from industry, the fixed gear Capelin Fishery in that portion of Notre Dame Bay between North Head and Dog Bay Point (Capelin Fishing Area 4) will close Wednesday, July 31, 2019 at 22:00 hours. Harvesters who have traps set are not required to remove them during this closure.

Harvesters are advised to closely monitor Notice to Fishers for information regarding a future reopening of the area.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Regions gives notice that Variation Order 2019-183 has been revoked and Variation Order 2019-185 comes into effect at 1800 hours on July 31, 2019.
