Fixed and Mobile Gear Mackerel Fishery Closing

DFO advises harvesters that the Mobile Gear and Fixed Gear mackerel fishery in all mackerel fishing areas of Newfoundland and Labrador Region will close as of Saturday, September 7, 2019 at 1800 hours Newfoundland Standard Time, for conservation purposes as commercial landings are near or have reached the Total Allowable Catch of 8,000 tonnes.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2019-180 and 2019-181 have been revoked and Variation Order 2019-264 comes into effect on September 7, 2019.
