Soft-Shell Closed Area for Crab in NAFO Division 3L

DFO advises that in accordance with the soft-shell protocol, the following grid quadrant in Crab Fishing Areas Nearshore, Midshore and 8BxN in NAFO Division 3L will close to fishing Snow crab at midnight on Tuesday June 11, 2019 due to a high incidence of soft-shell crab:

1. Grid J 19

2. Grid I 26

3. Grid O 22

These grids will be closed to Snow crab fishing for the remainder of the year. Harvesters should note that all gear in this grid quadrant must be removed immediately. Gear must be hauled and not reset on your next fishing trip.

The Regional Director General, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Newfoundland and Labrador Region gives notice that Variation Order 2019-079 has been revoked and Variation Order 2019-092 comes into effect on June 11, 2019.
